Import Guide: Singapore

Not available at checkout yet. Sawasdeal's Singapore Market is Draft. This legal-information page does not confirm a shipping service, rate or product admissibility.

Last reviewed: 23 September 2026. This guide covers key controls for individual online orders sent from Thailand to Singapore. Traveller allowances are not an automatic exemption for a paid parcel.

Food

Commercial food importers in Singapore need the appropriate SFA licence or registration and a permit for each consignment. Meat, fish, eggs, fresh produce and processed food have different controls and approved-source requirements. Private-consumption quantity guidance is not a blanket clearance for an overseas retail shipment. Until the exact importer and permit route is confirmed, carrier destination coverage alone is insufficient.

Cosmetics, supplements and medicines

Cosmetics supplied in Singapore must comply with HSA rules and generally require product notification by the responsible local dealer before supply. Medicines, controlled substances and products making therapeutic claims can require approval or be prohibited. Health supplements are not automatically medicines, but ingredients and claims must be reviewed.

Other goods and prohibited categories

Controlled goods require authorisation from the relevant authority before import. Singapore prohibits certain goods including most chewing gum outside specified approved types; weapons, tobacco or nicotine products, alcohol, telecommunications equipment, plants, animals, batteries and dangerous goods have separate controls. Carrier rules also apply to liquids, aerosols and flammable items.
