Import Guide: Hong Kong
Not available at checkout yet. Sawasdeal's Hong Kong Market is Draft. This legal-information page does not confirm a shipping service, rate or product admissibility.
Last reviewed: 23 September 2026. This guide covers key controls for individual online orders sent from Thailand to Hong Kong. Online sales remain subject to the same product laws as other sales.
Food
Prepackaged food offered for sale must meet Hong Kong labelling rules. Food-importer registration and movement records can apply to a business importing food. Meat, poultry, eggs, milk and frozen confections have additional source, health-certificate, permission or licence controls. Small parcel size does not remove these requirements.
Cosmetics, herbal goods and medicines
Cosmetics and consumer goods must be safe and properly labelled; mercury-added cosmetics above the permitted threshold are prohibited. Pharmaceutical products, proprietary Chinese medicines and specified Chinese herbal medicines are licence-controlled. A product presented with therapeutic claims may be treated as a medicine rather than an ordinary cosmetic or aroma product.
Other controlled goods
Plants, soil, live animals, animal products, protected species, pesticides, radio-transmitting equipment, weapons, strategic goods, alcohol, tobacco and dangerous goods have separate controls. Alternative smoking products are prohibited. Carrier restrictions separately apply to liquids, aerosols, perfume, batteries and flammable goods.
