Import Guide: Bulgaria

Last reviewed: 23 September 2026. This guide covers key controls for individual online orders sent from Thailand to Bulgaria. A paid order is a commercial B2C transaction, not a gift or traveller allowance. Rules can change and this is not an exhaustive legal opinion.

Shipping to Bulgaria

Service: FastShip All-in Food (ALL05). Duties and import taxes are included. No additional payment for duties or import taxes is required on delivery.

Estimated transit: 10–14 business days after dispatch. Order preparation starts the day after you place your order and takes 1–2 calendar days, including Saturdays and Sundays. FastShip ALL05 has a weekly parcel cutoff on Wednesday at 17:00, Thailand time (UTC+7). Prepared parcels that miss this cutoff wait for the following Wednesday. Preparation time is separate from waiting for the next carrier dispatch and from transit time. These are carrier parcel cutoffs, not online-store order cutoffs; you can place orders at any time. Delivery times are estimates; customs checks, public holidays and carrier operations can cause delays.

Product-weight limit: 16,000 g (16 kg). Shipping rates use the total product weight in your cart, not the carrier’s packed-parcel weight.

Shipping cost per 100 g is the shipping rate divided by the maximum product weight in each band, multiplied by 100 and rounded to two decimal places. It is an average at the band limit, not a per-100-g checkout charge. Using less than the band limit increases the average cost per 100 g; the full band shipping rate still applies.

Rates published: 14 October 2026. Based on FastShip quotes from 14 October 2026 and the current Shopify checkout configuration. Fixed conversion: US$1 = THB 33, rounded to two USD decimal places, with no additional shipping markup. The final available rate and order total are shown at checkout before payment.

A shipping service or DDP arrangement is not an import permit. Product eligibility and customs controls still apply. Available services depend on the exact order and delivery address.

Important: Bulgaria is in the EU customs and product-safety framework. Courier Post Plus DDP can arrange transport and import charges, but it does not supply an EU importer or responsible person and does not replace product approvals, registrations, certificates or compliant labels.

Food and agricultural goods

Ordinary shelf-stable plant-based packaged food may be possible after checking ingredients, additives, allergens, nutrition and destination-language information. Meat, dairy and other animal-origin ingredients, seafood, eggs, honey and composite foods have separate entry conditions and may require approved countries or establishments, certificates, private attestations, border controls or an EU food-business importer. Plants, seeds, fresh produce, some dried plant materials and plant-based handicrafts can require a phytosanitary certificate or may be prohibited. A small parcel or low weight is not a general exemption.

Cosmetics, personal care, supplements and medicines

A cosmetic placed on the EU market needs an EU-established responsible person, a safety assessment and product information file, compliant ingredients and labelling, and CPNP notification before sale. Food supplements remain foods and can have national notification, composition and language requirements. Products presented as treating or preventing illness may be medicines; online medicine rules differ by Member State. Sawasdeal should not offer Thai inhalers, therapeutic balms, medicines or cosmetics to Bulgaria until the exact classification and required EU or national compliance route are documented.

Other consumer products

Most non-food consumer goods are subject to the EU General Product Safety Regulation and any product-specific rules. An EU responsible economic operator, traceability, manufacturer and responsible-person contact details, safety information and warnings may be required in the online offer and on the product or packaging. Toys, electronics, radio equipment, batteries and other regulated goods can also require CE conformity or other technical documentation.

Products outside the routine parcel route

Do not offer narcotics, weapons, ammunition, explosives, counterfeit or pirated goods, protected wildlife or plant products without CITES documents, or controlled cultural objects. Alcohol, tobacco and nicotine products are excise-controlled. Aerosols, perfume, flammable liquids, loose batteries and other dangerous goods require separate carrier acceptance and compliant packing; destination legality alone is not enough.

Customs, VAT and local requirements

Goods and value must be declared accurately. Import VAT, customs duty and carrier processing depend on classification, origin, value and the service used. National rules can add language, supplement-notification, medicine, excise and market-surveillance requirements. Check Bulgaria customs and the relevant product authority before enabling a product at checkout.
